DEADMAN

By Andy Helfer José Luis García-López

Publisher: DC Comics

“Boston” Brand, the greatest circus aerialist who ever lived. “Lived,” unfortunately, is the key word here. One night, in the middle of his act, he was shot to death. The assassin had simply drawn Brand’s name as a target in a bizarre initiation rite into a guild of assassins. Raging against fate, Brand is given the chance to track down the killer, and later to help bring back the balance of good over evil in the world. A ghostly hero, Brand is incorporeal, but can inhabit the bodies of others.

First appearing in Strange Adventures #205, Deadman returns here in a four-part mini-series. Having come into contact with his brother Cleve, Deadman begs him to let Cleve borrow his body for a week so that he can once again experience the physical world. Boston revels in his new body and decides to relive his days as a performer. But in the midst of his act, he is killed for a second time. Only this time, the body that dies isn’t even his!
