Living his whole life hiding in a darkened house, unable to come out except after sunset, he pined for his childhood friend. But now he's learned the truth: the light is his ally, not his foe, and he is heir to his father's amazing power-the power of the Ray!

Now, thanks to his distant cousin, he has learnt the sun won't kill him. It will, in fact, turn him into a superpowered being, a hero called the Ray. When the 1940's hero also called the Ray turns up, Ray's life just gets more complicated...
