Reprinting neglected (and indeed odd) stories from the 1950s, this is well worth searching out. Behind a Mike Kaluta cover the first issue includes “The Invasion from the Abyss,” a curious collaboration between Al Williamson, Wally Wood, Frank Frazetta, Roy Krenkel, and Joe Orlando, plus a solo story by Wood, both from Avon’s Strange Worlds. The former is not five times as good as any of their individual efforts, but worth reading. Also included are a Fred Guardineer Space Ace story from Manhunt and a science-fiction Western (not many of those about) from Fawcett’s Bob Colt. Issue #2 featured Fawcett’s Captain Video illustrated by George Evans, Mysta of the Moon by Ruben Moreira from Planet Comics and Avon’s Captain Science by Orlando and Wood. ~NF
