Amazing find, obscure collectible and stunning condition.

CONDITION: Vinyl Record appears to be never been played. Tray Case (Display Box) is Near Mint with minor wear from being handled and stored for decades. Book is VF to NM. Additional "Program" has minor superficial folds that can easily be flattened.

In 1962, film fantasy director and producer George Pal, released the First Dramatic Film made in Fabulous CINERAMA.

The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm was directed by Henry Levin and George Pal. The latter was the producer and also in charge of the stop motion animation. The film was one of the highest-grossing films of 1962. It won one Oscar and was nominated for three additional Academy Awards. Actors Laurence Harvey, Terry-Thomas, Russ Tamblyn, Karlheinz Böhm, Jim Backus, Barbara Eden, and Buddy Hackett appear in the film.

Pal is best remembered as the producer of several science-fiction and fantasy films in the 1950's, such as When Worlds Collide, and 1960's, The War of the Worlds (1953). He himself directed Tom Thumb (1958) and The Time Machine (1960). George Pal is also known for creating PUPPETOONS... were a series of animated puppet films made in Europe in the 1930's and in the United States in the 1940s. They are memorable for their use of replacement animation: using a series of different hand-carved wooden puppets (or puppet heads or limbs) for each frame in which the puppet moves or changes expression, rather than moving a single puppet, as is the case with most stop motion puppet animation. Pal also used the Puppetoon name and the general Puppetoon technique for miniature puppet characters in some of his live-action feature films, including The Great Rupert (1949), Tom Thumb (1958), and The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm (1963). In these films, the individual wooden figures were billed as The Puppetoons.

The RARE movie collectible we are offering here is the BOXED soundtrack of the Brothers Grimm film, which includes both a pristine copy of the vinyl album and the Hardcover book "Treasury" associated with the film. Although I have owned many copies of both these items over the years I have never encountered it in this presentation box format.

The original owner of this piece appears to have been quite the "completest" because s/he has included the 4 page program booklet handed out during the initial "Road Show" release not available when the movie went to "wide" non-Cinerama distribution.
