Ruth Plumly Thompson's first OZ book, and though the story was entirely hers, she was not given actual credit for the book until 64 years later.

Black and white illustrations so probably post-1935 publication. No dust jacket. No color illustrations

CONDITION: All such Books display the accepted and expected signs of age and don't usually age very well (they were read mostly by kids),

This vintage Oz Book is in REMARKABLE and in VERY GOOD+++ or REALLY MUCH BETTER CONDITION. The usual softness and wear to edges, corners and spine. Very nice overall. It is solid, collectible and readable with a vibrant interior and exterior. Pictorial label on the front cover shows faint wear & rubbing.Front hinge is loosening and you can start to see the mesh beneath. Back hinge is fine. Former owners name has been erased from front of book.
