It is 27" X 25" printed on cloth (cotton or linen)
Entitled: "3 Kaisers in Berlin" Dated September 26th, 1872
Captions In German and Russian

Image quality is superb, brilliant and vivid.

VERY GOOD if not much better. Condition with the usual softeness & wear to corners and edges from being handled and stored. A couple of small holes and minor repair can be seen in image supplied. Kindly refer to images scanned, they are faithful and representative.

The Three (Kaisers) Emperors League
In 1873, two years after the unification of Germany, Franz Joseph entered into the League of Three Emperors with Kaiser Wilhelm I of Germany and Tsar Alexander II of Russia (who was succeeded by Tsar Alexander III in 1881). The league had been designed by the German chancellor Otto von Bismarck, as an attempt to maintain the peace of Europe. It would last intermittently until 1887.

Bismarck negotiated this in the wake of the Franco-Prussian War in order to isolate France and maintain European peace and security. It was between Germany's Emperor William I, Austria's Emperor Francis Joseph, and Russia's Tsar Alexander II. They pledged to cooperate in efforts to maintain peace and the status quo. However, after the Russo-Turkish War and the Congress of Berlin (1878) there was much tension between Austria and Russia and the strength of the League seemed doubtful.
