If one were to mix the story of Pandora’s Box with Night of the Living Dead, they would come up with Deadworld. Zombies walk the earth. Worse, a very few of these zombies are intelligent, and as a result are far more deadly. Very few humans still remain as a group of teens try to make their way to safety. Time and time again, the youngsters think they have found their new “home,” only to be attacked by the zombie’s leader King Zombie and his undead followers. The kids eventually discover that the key to solving this mess is a portal to other dimensions, which they must somehow close. The series concludes with a climactic battle in which King Zombie is partially defeated and the remaining humans move north to find shelter.

This black-and-white title began its first run with Arrow Comics in 1986. It ran some twenty six issues over six years before beginning a second volume at Caliber.
