The shipwrecked adventurer Thorgal hopes to get home with prize money from an archery competition, but the tournament promises to be both unchivalrous and dangerous.

Thorgal is a Belgian fantasy comic book series by the Belgian writer Jean Van Hamme and the Polish graphic artist Grzegorz Rosiński. It combines several themes and legends, ranging from Norse mythology and Atlantean fantasy to science fiction, and such genres as dark drama, horror and adventure stories.

The comic first appeared in serial form in "Tintin" magazine in 1977, and has been published in hardcover volumes by Le Lombard from 1980 on. Translations exist in English and many other languages. In 2002, it was adapted as a adventure video game, Thorgal: Curse of Atlantis, by Cryo Interactive Entertainment.

Jean Van Hamme (born 16 January 1939) is a Belgian novelist and comic book writer. He has written scripts for a number of Belgian/French comic series, including Histoire sans héros, Thorgal, XIII and Largo Winch."

Grzegorz Rosiński (born August 3, 1941) is a Polish comic book artist. He is best known for providing the artwork for the series Thorgal.[wiki]
