Softcover Magazine Fanzine

Publisher: Dillenges, 1981

8 1/2" X 11" Black & White Magazine Format with stiff cardboard covers.

Scarce Nostalgia & Pop Art Fanzine with many articles, interviews, overviews, reviews and many illustrated reproductions of classic comic books, comic strips, artists samples and stories as well as fan fave cult movies.

"Press Books" were included in PRESS KITS that movie and TV studios created and sent to newspapers and your local movie theatre. They included black and white line art of camera ready images in various sizes that movie theaters could cut out and supply to the local paper with name, phone numbers and showtimes inserted to advertise the showing at the theater. There were also generic articles, behind the scenes, actor bio's etc that the local paper could use to fill empty space in the paper. These articles were called "fillers" and they really were just another form of advertising. 8" X 10" glossy stills of scenes from the movie and the stars of the picture. There were also tip sheets on how to run successful campaigns for each movie. Order forms for extra movie posters, lobby cards, posters in other configurations like the A,B,C, versions of the One Sheets, Window Cards, Jumbo Lobbies, 3-sheets, 6-sheets, 12-sheets, even 24-sheets (Billboard size) and whatever other promotional material that existed for each feature.

This issue contains many reproductions from many different presskits including:

the Steve Reeves HERCULES movies, the Pink Panther, Humphrey Bogart & Lizabeth Scott in Dead Reckoning, Bogart in Sirocco, Alan Ladd in Reach fot the Skies, Tyrone Power & Errol Flynn, Robert Mitchum, John Wayne in the Shootist, Murder on the Orient Express, Caricatures by Hirshfield and Norkin, the Pink Panther, Jack Davis and many more...

Of great interest is the Alex Toth art for "Steve Bentley, Secret Agent" that is based on the comic strip that Jack Lemmon's character in George Axelrod's "How to Murder Your Wife" movie draws!
